Position Description for: Survey Crew Member

JOB SUMMARY

Supports the survey department on ALTA surveys, topographic mapping, aerial control surveys and construction staking. Responsible for following all directions and collecting all data and information requested for that particular project working under the direction of a Survey Party Chief.

TYPICAL DUTIES

· Knowledge in the use of Trimble GPS and robotic total stations for data collection and construction layout

· Perform quick basic mathematical surveying calculations

· Read and follow directions for detailed and specific survey scopes

· Working knowledge of ALTA surveys, topographic surveys and construction staking projects in the field

· Communicate daily with the Survey Crew Chief and field scheduling coordinator

SKILLS / EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

· Work as a member of a 2-3 man survey crew performing construction staking.

· Operate, clean and cares for survey tools, equipment and trucks.

· Carry 15-20 pounds consistently throughout the day.

· Punctual, responsible and hard working.

· Ability to travel in state.

· Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and follow directions

· Possess strong communication and time management skills

· Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED

· Some knowledge of Trimble survey equipment preferred

· Entry level position with up to 4 years of relevant experience and may hold an NSPS Certified Survey Technician certification

· Flexibility with schedule, able to work early mornings, late nights or weekends, as needed
