The Yavapai Street water line replacement project was aimed at replacing approximately 2,600 feet of a four-inch water line located in Yavapai Street, stretching from Frontier Street to Oxbow Drive. The existing system was installed in the 1940s, and due to its age, very little information was available about the water line. This made it necessary to conduct potholing of the existing line and other utilities prior to design to minimize construction issues.

In addition to the replacement of the aging water line, the project also included 16 service reconnections which were designed and constructed to minimize the period of time that customers were out of water. This was important to ensure that residents and businesses in the area were not unduly inconvenienced during the project.

One of the challenges encountered during the project was the need for a jack and bore crossing of the BNSF Railway and Highway 60. The team at EPS Group had to carefully plan and execute this crossing to avoid disruption of the railway and the highway. The project also included a range of pre-design and design services, as well as bid services and post-design services.

Overall, the project was a success, and the new water line now serves the area more effectively than the old line. The replacement of the water line has ensured that residents and businesses in the area have access to safe and reliable water supply. EPS Group’s expertise and experience in the field of engineering and surveying were instrumental in the success of the project. The team was able to work closely with the city and the contractor to ensure that the project was completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
