EPS Group’s Robert Johnston Transitions Into Legal Survey Department Leadership Role
EPS Group’s Mesa office has a new department head. As part of the company’s succession plan, Robert Johnston, RLS, takes over as Legal Survey Department Manager from Mary Kennedy, RLS, who has led the department for six years. Kennedy will remain with EPS, though in a project manager role. Her desire to spend more time with her grandchildren is one of the driving factors behind this slow transition into retirement.
“I’m excited for EPS staff and our clients!” said Kennedy. “Robert embodies the experience, values and entrepreneurial spirit that are key to building great working relationships. His step into this leadership role brings renewed focus on excellent customer service, responsiveness and dedication to quality.”
Johnston provides EPS Group more than 27 years of surveying experience – 19 in the Phoenix metro area – and 13 years of survey department management experience. Prior to joining the company he served as Survey Manager at Hilgartwilson’s Phoenix office, and had also surveyed in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, for five years. He is a registered land surveyor in both Arizona and Colorado.
In addition to his new role as Survey Department Manager, Johnston is also running EPS Group’s newly-opened North Phoenix Office, splitting his time between that location and the EPS Mesa office.
The move is a positive one – many in the industry are already familiar with Johnston’s management style and work ethic, and countless clients have relied on Kennedy’s steady leadership over the past decades. The two will work in tandem over the coming months, blending the knowledge and experiences of two talented survey professionals to the benefit of EPS Group staff and clients.
