CEO Opportunity

We’re seeking an elevated thinker and visionary leader to replace our current CEO, Kathey Wagner, who announced her planned retirement in early 2023. Over the past five years, Kathey has built our team and the internal infrastructure needed for EPS to scale our business. As our new CEO, you will be the driving force behind our continued growth and success.

Key Responsibilities

As our new CEO, you will draw upon your strong understanding of the markets we serve, industry trends, and economic conditions to develop business strategies in pursuit of the firm’s goals. Help us take EPS Group to the next level by driving growth through expansion in our current markets and entry into new ones.

You will oversee the firm’s operations and business activities to ensure we are achieving what we set out to do. Our Department Leaders will look to you as a coach and mentor as they manage their teams and work towards achieving their performance goals. Your leadership and management style will help set the tone for our entrepreneurial and team-minded company culture as we grow.

You will leverage your communication skills both internally and externally for the firm as you build trust with associates, shareholders, and key business partners. Part of your role will be to represent EPS Group at the highest level to multiple external audiences, including clients, potential clients, community groups, and the media.

Desired Qualifications

We are looking for a polished leader with at least 20 years of prior executive experience, including experience developing and executing strategic plans and initiatives as well as managing and developing teams. Our ideal candidate has at least 10 years of experience in the AEC industry and can demonstrate a strong understanding of EPS Group’s service offering. You will need a basic understanding of accounting/financial reporting, operations, marketing, and human resources in an engineering firm setting. Experience with merger/acquisition negotiations and cultural assessments is a plus.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

While the CEO will serve all EPS Group offices, the position will be located in our Mesa, Arizona headquarters. Occasional travel to other EPS Group offices will be required.

Like many organizations, the CEO position is the highest Executive Leadership position within EPS Group. All Department Leaders report to the CEO. The CEO reports to the Board of Directors. The CEO position is not a shareholder position.

 

EPS Group’s new CEO will earn among the top CEOs in our industry. In anticipation of hiring for this position, EPS Group partnered with an external consultant to conduct an independent analysis of CEO compensation in the markets we serve. We are pleased to offer a highly competitive compensation package. In addition to a base salary, the CEO is eligible for a profit-based incentive based on firm-wide results.
