Our team provided comprehensive civil engineering, traffic engineering, surveying, construction staking, and site drainage design services, all within a fast-track CMAR environment.

The scope included demolitions, grading, utilities, parking, roadway design, high-capacity roundabout analysis, curb and paving plans, signing and striping, building utility connections, and horizontal control. One of the most complex challenges was the site drainage, which required extensive coordination with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) to integrate existing freeway facilities. EPS designed more than 3,300 feet of storm drain, 15 acre-feet of retention basins, numerous inlets, and an overflow spillway system with ultimate outfall to the Loop 101 drainage channel. This innovative strategy preserved critical land for development, eliminated the need for costly underground tanks, and saved over half a million dollars in infrastructure costs.

Beyond the stadium and training complex, EPS contributed to the planning and design of the 42-acre Riverview Park and adjacent commercial areas. The park redesign incorporated pedestrian amenities, athletic fields, water features, playgrounds, and community gathering spaces, ensuring the facility serves both visitors and local residents. Our team delivered key pre-packaged components—including demolitions, mass grading, and utilities—within just eight weeks, accelerating bidding and construction schedules.

Through close collaboration with the City of Mesa and ADOT, EPS Group successfully delivered a facility that balances function, efficiency, and community value. Today, Sloan Park attracts thousands of visitors each season, serving as a premier venue for spring training while providing lasting recreational and economic benefits to the region.
