EPS Group completed the 28-mile Parkway Feasibility Study within the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) Hassayampa Framework study area. This project began at I-10 and extended north to the proposed alignment of the SR 74 extension through numerous Master Planned Communities (MPC’s) and existing development, adjacent to the Toyota Proving Grounds, through ASLD and BLM lands, and across the CAP Canal and APS/WAPA transmission lines.
Coordination of alignments through proposed MPC’s was one of the key project issues as many MPC’s already had approved master plans from multiple jurisdictions (County and Buckeye) and were reluctant to modify their planned alignments. Wash crossings and floodplains were of particular concern as these drainage features frequently crossed the corridor.
