Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) is a specialized engineering discipline that focuses on the detailed mapping and management of underground utilities. By identifying and accurately locating these utilities, SUE helps to minimize risks associated with construction and infrastructure projects. EPS Group adheres to the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) CI/ASCE 38-02 standard, a national consensus guideline that sets the industry benchmark for collecting and depicting subsurface utility data. This standard is crucial in defining professional responsibility and ensuring accurate project outcomes.
We deliver a full spectrum of quality levels, starting with the foundational record reviews and recollections of Quality Level D, progressing to the survey and correlation of visible surface features in Quality Level C, and advancing with geophysical methods for approximate horizontal positioning in Quality Level B, and culminating in the precise physical location and measurement of utilities in Quality Level A.
