Valley Metro Light Rail – Gilbert Road Extension: The Gilbert Road Light Rail Extension project is a 1.9-mile track addition to the existing line along Main Street in downtown Mesa.
A four-way roundabout, the first of its kind in the United States, features automobile interface with light rail. EPS Group provided civil engineering and survey consulting services. The project included roadway design, drainage design, utility design and coordination, mapping, ALTA surveys, right-of-way plans, and over 200 legal descriptions/exhibits. During the Value Engineering Workshop, EPS Group recommended relocating the Gilbert Road station, saving the project $1.5 million.
