The Youth Village at Canyon State Academy is a significant extension of the school’s academic campus, providing a symbolic transition into a new chapter of academic excellence and student occupational experience. The school aims to create a seamless connection between the academic campus and the chapel, the enterprise zone, and the student-employed youth village buildings, which is accomplished through the tree-lined Community Connection Bridge.

The Community Connection Bridge is a key feature that unites the two campuses, providing a symbolic and physical link between the classroom and the greater community. The bridge is lined with different types of trees, reflecting the metaphorical changes that students go through during their academic career. The landscape design provides a dynamic and compelling environment, creating an exciting and engaging atmosphere that invites visitors to explore.

The Enterprise Zone and adjacent plaza spaces offer a unique experience for students and the public, providing an opportunity for engagement and interaction. The shaded chapel entry and fellowship plazas provide welcoming community areas with a signature olive tree, a reflecting pool, community family sculpture, and seating, allowing visitors to gather for events.

The landscape design is a significant aspect of the project, with various trees lining the Community Connection Bridge, parking, pedestrian spine, promenade, and plaza areas. The landscape design is intended to mimic the transition of the students’ occupational learning, creating an environment that is dynamic, exciting, and reflective of the changes that students undergo throughout their academic careers.
