EPS Group CEO, Kathey Wagner was recognized as one of the Phoenix Business Journal’s Outstanding Women in Business for 2023 Tuesday evening. A total of 185 candidates were nominated for this honor; Kathey was one of 26 individuals who received the award based on their impressive career achievements. Several associates and leadership team members joined in to celebrate with Kathey including Scott Elliot, Josh Hannon, Jody Helton, Barb Horst, Hank Jansen, Robert Johnston, Bryan Kitchen, Samantha Matthews, Aliza Sabin, and Tom Snyder.
When asked, “What’s next on your to-do list?” Kathey answered, “Well, I just recently announced I will be retiring. But I absolutely have to tag on the fact that it’s been the most exceptional ride with the team from EPS Group. I love you guys! It’ll be hard to leave them…however, Jody and I are looking forward to getting in our sprinter van and taking some trips across the United States.”
During her PBJ interview, Kathey shared her best advice for current and future female leaders:
“Invite people into your life who bring different perspectives, challenge your thinking, and create dynamic discussions. Go beyond your family and friends and business associates and hire an executive coach and mental health provider; a team of experts who are committed to your development as a human and leader.”
This recognition is a testament to Kathey’s remarkable leadership, unwavering dedication, and exceptional contributions to EPS Group. The experience and wealth of knowledge she’s shared with us have been key in growing our company from a small firm to the largest, locally owned multi-discipline firm in Arizona.
Kathey, thank you for reminding us that going beyond the business of the business and giving back strengthens the community as a whole. We’re proud to call you our teammate, colleague, and friend. Once again, congratulations on this well-deserved achievement!
